She then returned to Port Elizabeth to complete her internship and community service years, as well as some time there as a medical officer. It was during her internship that she discovered her love for paediatrics, and that resulted in her completing her community service and medical officer years in paediatrics. During that time, she obtained her Diploma in Child Health through the Colleges of Medicine (South Africa). She then relocated to Cape Town and worked at Tygerberg Hospital in the paediatrics department for an additional 4 years. She has more than 16 years experience in the medical profession and recently joined private practice as a general practitioner in Cape Town, Western Cape. Her career in private practice started in 2015, as a general practitioner working at a group practice. There she obtained invaluable experience in family medicine, and realized an additional interest in women’s health and travel medicine. In 2018, she obtained a certificate in travel medicine through the South African Society of Travel Medicine and she is therefore licensed to administer Yellow Fever vaccinations to travelers. On a more personal note, she is married and recently became a mom to a beautiful baby boy which inspired the move to her practice in Tokai. She is now able to work much closer to home and therefore spend more time with him. As a medical practitioner, she is committed to upholding patient well-being through holistic health care which encompasses physical, mental and social well-being. |
